Strategic-Plan-and-Reports-Hero.webp

83 TIL INFINITY

CURATORS: KEVIN BOURNE (SHIFTER), RACHELLE DICKENSON (OAG)

LOCATION: OTTAWA ART GALLERY

RUNTIME: JULY 2023-FEBRUARY 2024

SHIFTER founder, Kevin Bourne, successfully pitched the 83 Til Infinity hip-hop exhibit to the Ottawa Art Gallery in late 2021 before relocating back to Toronto. The exhibit told the story of hip-hop culture in the Ottawa-Gatineau region from 1983 until the present day, through installations, photographs, projections, photographs, posters, album covers, video viewing stations, audio stations, clothing, and old equipment. Popular with school groups, 83 Til Infinity became one of the most visited exhibits in the OAG's history.

The exhibit also included a comic book telling the story of Ottawa hip-hop, as well as merchandise.

The space also played host to numerous events, including a launch party and vernissage, and professional development programs during the life of the exhibit.
