VIRTUAL ASSISTANT

 

This role is: Part-time (5 hours/week to start)

Compensation: $17/hour

Job classification: Administrative/Entry-level

Job location: Virtual/worldwide

Reports to: The Virtual Assistant will report to the CEO, SHIFTER Agency

Job Overview

The Virtual Assistant supports the CEO, SHIFTER Agency in his day-to-day role of operating and growing SHIFTER Agency and its divisions. The successful candidate will alleviate some of the minor administrative responsibilities so the CEO can focus on expanding the reach and revenue of the company. 

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Manages info@shifteragency.com and kevin@shiftermagazine.com email accounts

  • Manages the SHIFTER Agency CRM

  • Drafts and sends out email correspondence on behalf of the CEO and management team

  • Makes phone calls on behalf of the CEO and management team as needed

  • Provides administrative support for the Branded To Create program including handling client inquiries, adding new clients to the Branded To Create client group

  • Managing the SHIFTER email list and sending our correspondence

  • Attends Monday morning staff meetings

Qualifications

  • Related experience as a Virtual Assistant, Admin Assistant, or Office Manager

  • Proficiency with Mailchimp and the Google Suite is a must

  • Previous experience with Canva is an asset

  • Must be a highly professional self-starter and A-plus performer

  • Must be decisive

EDITORIAL ASSISTANT

Reports to: The Editorial Assistant will report to the Editor-In-Chief

Job Overview

The Editorial Assistant supports the Editor-In-Chief in his day-to-day role of operating and growing SHIFTER (magazine). The successful candidate will alleviate some of the minor editorial responsibilities so the Editor-In-Chief can focus on expanding the reach and revenue of the platform. 

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Manages SHIFTER's editorial calendar

  • Manages the main info@shiftermagazine.com email account and organizes submissions

  • Helps the editor-in-chief to edit and post articles as needed

  • Builds and reaches out to a list of potential advertising

  • Communicates with contributors on behalf of the editor-in-chief

  • Writes articles when needed

  • Fact checks articles and transcribes articles as needed

  • General duties as assigned by the Editor

  • Attends Monday morning staff meetings

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree/diploma in journalism or communications or related experience

  • Previous experience with Wordpress is an asset

  • Previous experience with Adobe Photoshoot or Canva is an asset

  • Must be a highly professional self-starter and A-plus performer

  • Must be decisive

  • Must be in love with pop/mainstream culture and/or arts & entertainment
