
Kevin Bourne, also known as "KB", is a Toronto-based TV/film director, producer, content strategist, and TEDx speaker, who has worked with everyone from CBC and New Balance to York University. As the co-founder and editor of the media platform SHIFTER, he has interviewed everyone from Kevin Hart, Fast and the Furious star Tyrese Gibson, Ava Duvernay, Ziggy Marley, Morris Chestnut, Howie Mandel and Lilly Singh.
Beginning in 2013, Kevin co-produced two films and began directing/producing for live broadcast. Later, he co-produced two digital series with CBC, Canada's national broadcaster, including a four-part docuseries. This all led to a part-time TV Broadcasting professor position at Algonquin College. In 2023, he stepped into the world of exhibition curation, successfully pitching and co-curating the Ottawa Art Gallery's '83 'til Infinity hip-hop exhibit.
After years as an arts and entertainment journalist, In 2023 and 2024, Kevin was named one of 340 international voters for the 81st and 82nd Golden Globe Awards and a Tomatometer-Approved Critic by Rotten Tomatoes.
He is also the co-founder of the film, TV, digital content, and live experiences company, SHIFTER Entertainment, alongside his wife and business partner, Koliah. Most recently, he served as the showrunner, writer and co-director for the unscripted reality series A Date In The Life on Bell Fibe TV1.
In 2024, Kevin completed the Intro to Writing for TV course at Second City, later becoming a member of the Los Angeles-based Organisation for Black Screenwriters (OBS). He's also completed a number of producer mentorship programs, including the CaribbeanTales Business Incubator and Studio Access Program (CTBISAP). Black Screen Office's Office Hours program where he was paired with a CBC Unscripted executive for one-on-one one mentorship, and Canfro Productions x Warner Bros Discovery Access Canada's Diversity Showrunner Bootcamp. In 2025, he was admitted into the Netflix-Banff Diversity of Voices program.
Now, Kevin is poised to position himself as a leading producer of film, video, and digital content, as well as live events, for both young and diverse audiences.
